With the recent rise in foreclosures, foreclosure-related scams have exploded onto the Real Estate scene. Although recent law changes has curbed some of this malpractice, the problem still widely exsists.
RED FLAGS FOR SCAMS!!
• Asking for money upfront before providing service
• Advising you to not contact your lender and stop to
making payments
• Advising you to transfer title to someone else
• Promising to stop foreclosure no matter the circumstances
• Failing to provide copies of signed documents
• Asking you to sign a Power of Attorney
• Only taking payment is cash or cashier’s check
• Instructing you not to contact your lawyer or CPA
